Whether you're sealing basecoat paint on a full respray or touching up panels, this hardener ensures superior adhesion, UV protection, and a high-gloss appearance. Sold in a convenient QUART size (32 fl oz), it's the perfect complement to your clear coat system for automotive restoration, repair, and custom finishing work. Ideal for professional auto body shops and experienced DIY enthusiasts.
Key Features & Benefits:
Optimized Slow Cure Formula: Specifically formulated with extended working time, allowing smoother application and better flow leveling without rushing the process. Ideal for larger projects or variable ambient conditions.
Perfect Compatibility: Engineered to work seamlessly with Latico clear coat systems, ensuring consistent mixing ratios and predictable results every time.
Professional-Grade Performance: 2K technology delivers maximum hardness, chemical resistance, and long-term durability. Provides outstanding UV protection and prevents yellowing or fading over time.
Cost-Effective Size: One quart activates the proper amount of clear coat for multiple applications or full panel coverage, making it economical for bigger jobs.
VOC Compliant: Meets environmental standards in most regions (check local regulations).
Specifications:
Type: 2K Hardener/Activator (Slow)
Size: 1 Quart (32 fl oz)
Recommended Ratio: Follow Latico clear coat specifications (typically 4:1 or 8:1 – verify your clear coat ratio)
Shelf Life: Up to 2 years when stored properly (unopened, sealed container).
Storage: Keep in cool, dry place away from heat and sunlight.
Not Included: Clear coat, reducer, spray gun, or application tools – sold separately.
Application Instructions: Always work in a well-ventilated area, wear protective gear (gloves, respirator, goggles), and follow Latico clear coat manufacturer guidelines for mixing and spray parameters. This product is for professional or experienced use only.
Mixing:
Verify the correct hardener-to-clear-coat ratio on your Latico clear coat container (typically 4 parts clear to 1 part hardener, or 8 parts to 1 part – DO NOT GUESS).
Pour clear coat first, then add the measured hardener slowly while stirring thoroughly for 2-3 minutes.
Let mixture sit briefly (2-5 minutes) to allow air bubbles to escape before spraying.
Allow extra time for SLOW formula to fully homogenize, especially in cooler conditions.
Application:
Use an HVLP spray gun with appropriate tip size (check Latico specifications, typically 1.3-1.4mm).
Apply at manufacturer-recommended PSI (usually 45-55 PSI).
Apply 2-3 light, even coats with proper flash time between coats (typically 10-15 minutes for slow hardener).
Ideal temperature: 68-75°F (20-24°C) with moderate humidity. Slower cure formula works best in slightly cooler conditions.
Allow adequate cure time before handling (typically 2-4 hours tack-free; full cure 24-48 hours). Do not wet sand or buff until fully hardened.
Cleanup & Safety:
Clean all equipment immediately with lacquer thinner or acetone before hardener cures.
Warnings: Flammable – keep away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Harmful if inhaled. Use only in well-ventilated areas or with supplied-air respirator. Do not ingest. Dispose of waste per local hazardous material regulations. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Shipping & Handling:
Ships via ground only due to hazardous materials regulations (no air shipping).
Continental US shipping available; contact for international rates.
Item is new, sealed, and ready to ship within 1-2 business days.
