Surface Preparation:
Ensure basecoat is fully cured and free of contaminants. If basecoat has been applied more than 24 hours prior, lightly scuff with 400-600 grit sandpaper.
Clean thoroughly with a tack cloth or wipe-down with isopropyl alcohol to remove dust, oils, and debris.
Mask off surrounding areas to prevent overspray.
Mixing:
Measure 2 parts AC-9041 clear coat by volume into a clean mixing container.
Add 1 part hardener (included or sold separately) and stir thoroughly for 2-3 minutes until fully blended.
Allow mixed material to settle for 5-10 minutes before spraying.
Pot life (usable time after mixing): Approximately 4-6 hours at 70°F; shorten in warmer conditions.
Application:
Use an HVLP spray gun with a 1.4-1.5mm fluid tip for best atomization. Set air pressure at 55-65 PSI.
Apply 2-3 medium, even coats, allowing 15-30 minutes flash time between coats in good conditions.
